Augmented Reality Activism Illuminates Ontario Place

Augmented Reality Activism Illuminates Ontario Place

On December 21st, Ontario Place will host a groundbreaking event merging technology and activism as the black border fence between Toronto and Ontario transforms into the world’s largest computer display screen using Metavision. Pioneered by Steve Mann, a co-founder of Meta augmented reality company, this initiative will bring together advocates, including Mann, lightpainting artist Reid Godshaw, and Anita Krajnc of Toronto Pig Save. Attendees can learn Metavision, create virtual overlays, and join the collective “painting” of the wall starting at 9 pm, leading to a grand solstice meetup at 10:27 pm. This event signifies a unique intersection of technology, art, and activism, challenging the boundaries of public space privatization.
