When converting a video file to a GIF, the file size can become large. This can be problematic if you plan on sharing the GIF as many social media services impose limits on the maximum allowed sized for a GIF. Fortunately we have a helpful page on various services you can use online to compress the size of your GIF.
Some other tips to keeping the size down would be to lower the frame rate of the GIF. If you lower this too much however, the GIF will become choppy. It is also worth looking at the dimensions of the GIF, making this as small as possible will also help in keeping the size small.

The great thing about Imgur’s GIF creation tool is how quick and easy it is. It will only allow you to convert a video online so you cannot upload your video files directly. You will have to first upload it to a service like Youtube or Vimio.

With the largest collection of GIF’s online, of course they have a method of creating. Something to keep in mind when you create a GIF with Giphy is that any GIF created will automatically become public. You can easily create GIF’s from video files, YouTube videos, still photos and even existing GIF’s.
