This can be problematic if you plan on sharing the GIF as many social media services impose limits on the maximum allowed sized for a GIF. Some other tips to keeping the size down would be to lower the frame rate of the GIF. If you lower this too much however, the GIF will become choppy. It is also worth looking at the dimensions of the GIF, making this as small as possible will also help in keeping the size small to optimize the gif. This below list is free software that you download to your computer and install. Many of these also allow you to convert existing images and videos to GIF’s in high quality. The main benefits to use software to create a GIF is that you can use it offline without internet and you can also record a section of your screen to a GIF. There may also be a feature available to set start time or animation speed. The advantage to software over web apps is the ability to create multiple images with ease.
